Unable to correct manufacturing
errors in a timely fashion

After detailed business process
analysis to identify bottlenecks and weaknesses,
we developed a custom data warehouse solution
built on Oracle and tailored for the yield analysis
business unit.

60x performance increase, giving
ability to perform what-if analysis. Savings of
over $50M per year. Greater accuracy of reporting
data.

By moving to an Oracle data warehouse, Texas
Instruments has simplified its analysis operations
and
cut costs while delivering more to the business.
Legacy tools could no longer keep up with the growing
volume of data, and a solution had to be found that
would not only scale on volume, but could be developed
to fit the dynamic nature of the business.
The solution was a custom designed data warehouse
developed using Oracle technology. A detailed analysis
of each segment of the business unit was analyzed and
refined until we exactly modeled the entire business
process.
Implementing the database design and the data loading
tools provided greater: speed, reliability and accuracy
of the data being measured. With a 60x speed-up in
performance over the legacy system, it was now possible
to perform real-time what-if style
scenarios based on initial findings the data. This
enabled the
customer
to significantly reduce the cycle time required to
identify defective parts in the business pipeline.
A saving of over $50M per year.
